Win a Betty Crocker "Sweet Moments" Prize Pack

Due to the generosity of Betty Crocker and MyBlogSpot.com, I have the opportunity to give away the same wonderful collection of Gluten-Free Dessert Mixes that I received. The Prize Pack includes the following:

Betty Crocker's Gluten-Free Chocolate Chip Mix
Betty Crocker's Gluten-Free Brownie Mix
Betty Crocker's Gluten-Free Devil's Food Cake Mix
Betty Crocker's Yellow-Cake Mix
Grocery Tote Bag
Grocery list pad and pen
2 coupons for any of the above products

How do you enter to win? Between now and July 31, simply post a comment here telling a "sweet moment" in your life where you would serve one of these desserts. It might be your child's birthday party at school, or another child's birthday party where you have to BYOC (bring your own cupcake), maybe you need a GFCF treat to use as part of ABA therapy, or maybe you are having an old-fashioned picnic. Open your heart, share your experiences, and show Betty why the availability of GFCF products in mainstream stores is important to us!

As stipulated per Betty, this contest, alas, is only open to my U.S. readers. (Right now these products are only distributed in the U.S.). The winner will be chosen randomly, that is, I will put all the comments in a hat and let the Prince choose one. I will announce the winner on August 1. The winner will provide me with contact information and Betty Crocker will ship the prize directly to you.

Please note: these products are gluten-free and dairy-free but contain soy lecithin.

My birthday is Aug 7 and I haven't had a birthday cake to share with my family and friends since I have been diagnosed with Celiac in 2007. I would love to have a "sweet moment" where I could share a delicious, GFCF cake with those that I love as we celebrate life and have a party together. :)

A sweet moment for me would be getting my mom to make me a going away cake when I leave for college. (She thinks normal gluten free cake mixes are too complicated and finicky.)

Being able to go to the "regular" supermarket and buy a gluten-free cake mix is such a new thing for us. Having two kids who are gluten-free and dairy-free, it finally feels like we are not alone as we shop for sweet treats. Although school hasn't started yet, I look forward to being able to run in and buy a Betty Crocker gluten-free cake mix at a moment's notice -- to whip up a batch of cupcakes for my sons and know that it's going to taste great and be affordable. Way to go Betty Crocker!

When you have a GFCF kid, spending a Tuesday afternoon making cupcakes together is a real treat! That the whole family can eat the same thing is especially sweet!

A sweet moment in our house could be any day, because gluten and casein are never present in snacks or desserts that are usually had at least once per day. Admittedly this is mostly possible due to ladies like Pamela, Aunt Candice, or more recently, Chef Pam. We love the idea of a new lady called Betty being added to this group, especially because now is the perfect time to start ensuring that whoever eats desserts is involved in their preparation...

My sweet moment consists of 3 simple ingredients, My son William who is GFCF, my daughter Sylvana who is not, and a Betty Crocker GFCF cake or brownie mix. Ever since my son was diagnosed with ASD, I have searched high and low to find something as sweet and moist and fabulous as his sister and others have been able to enjoy. It has been quite a challenge to say the least. To have an opportunity for just one moment where he won't notice his food is "different"(and believe me he notices even though he is only 4), would be the "sweetest" moment I can think of.

My gfcf son needs blood work on a regular basis. We get through the hospital experience through grit and determination, love, and a goody bag of treats. These would make great hospital distractions.

I have a 7 year old son who has been diagnosed with Autism. He is on the GFCF Diet and simply loves deserts. I am constantly making him deserts for no reason at all, simply cause he loves cupcakes, cakes, brownies and cookies. He recently began to speak and he now can ask me for a cake so I make it for him on request. I usually go to Nutrition Smarts which is far from where I live but seems to be the closest place where they sell desert mixes. I recently started making him deserts from scratch using a cookbook that I purchased but as you can guess this is a lot of work (time consuming), so just the idea that a supermarket near my home will make this available to us is AWESOME!!! I can't wait until I see them on the shelf at Publix.

Oh, I would love to make one of these sweet treats for my precious 6 year old boy. He has been GFCF for 3.5 years and rarely gets anything sweet because I hate to make GFCF from scratch as it usually entails so many ingredients. I am very excited about these products and I can't wait until they show up at my local grocery. My little boy lights up when I make cupcakes and cakes for my girls but he cannot have them and must settle for a GFCF cookie instead.

OUR sweet moment would be for me MOMMY to make the best B-DAY cake for my oldest child who is turning 4 in October. I want to see his face when i get to tell him YES!!! YOU CAN EAT THIS CAKE!! That would be just GREAT!! Then for a change i could feel even just for that one moment like mother of the year! So thank you Betty Crocker for thinking about the rest of us for a change. It's so hard to live in the GFCF world so some sweet rewards would be nice for a change :)

The simplest sweet moment for me would be having my son bake with me again. My mom began me baking with her at age two, and I have continued that tradtion with my three sons. After starting the GFCF diet for my oldest son recently, the most disappointing aspect is not having him standing on his chair at the counter with me; sharing my love of baking (and licking the spoon!) with him is a sweet moment I'd like to have again.

My dad, and subsequently I, were diagnosed with Celiac disease just after he was diagnosed with a terminal kidney illness. He lives in a small town without a health food store, and being able to buy a Betty Crocker mix at the local grocery store would be a real treat for him! As he and my mom get nearer to their 30th wedding anniversary on August 10, a cake to celebrate their life together would be great!

I would love to transform a cakemix into a whole batch of sweet moments ;)

My six-year-old little girl is on a GFCF diet due to a rare medical condition called cyclic vomiting syndrome, or CVS, and living GFCF can be challenging sometimes -- birthday parties are a perfect example.

We make homemade GFCF cupcakes and keep them in the freezer for personal mini cakes to accompany her to birthday parties so she isn't left out when the birthday cake is served.

The night before a party, we pull a cupcake out of the freezer, frost it, top it with sprinkles and pop it in a cup-sized tupperware container.

It would be soooooooo nice to have a great-tasting affordable mix as an option for things like this!

Thanks so much for hosting such a great giveaway! :)

(And thanks Betty Crocker, for taking the time to make the world a sweeter and friendlier place for GF kiddos like mine!)

My 8 year old son is just getting into cooking himself. We have been on the GFCF diet for about 6 months, and I feel like it has been harder for him to help in the kitchen. These new dessertts would help so much to make it easier to make treats with him and not have so many complicated ingredients. We love to make treats on Sunday afternoon to share with family and friends.

We have recently discovered my sons wheat allergy. It has mad a world of difference in him not to have it in his diet. I would love to win so I could have a cake mix for his 5th birthday that is coming up! THanks!

I am so excited about these products! We have just started the gfcf diet for my son, and it has not been easy. I love to bake and have yummy snacks on hand for him. His birthday is coming up next month and I was worried about how I was will make his cake, but it looks like Betty Crocker may have saved the day! :)

My 3 year old boy was sitting on the floor playing with some stuffed animals, when we overheard him say in an excited voice, "Here, you can eat some cake. IT's safe for you. This cake is safe for EVERYONE!"

Ever since then, we've been more aware of how frequently he is told that foods are not safe for him, and we've tried to find mixes that everyone in our family can enjoy together. Any time that we do, it's a very "sweet moment".

A sweet moment for me would be to be able to bake something for my son and have it be simple. I just started him on the diet today and it seems so overwhelming. This would take all the guesswork out of making it from scratch.

We just started our 23 month old son on the GFCF diet. He will be turning 2 next month and we just realized that we won't be able to have a regular birthday cake for him. We'd love to try the new Betty Crocker mixes!

We are a GFCF home, but we live on an island (Martha's Vineyard) so supplies are limited!! Our sweet moment would be my 4 yr old son opening a UPS box with cake mix inside it -- one of our favorite afternoon stops used to be the local bakery where we'd split a cupcake -- it would make him very happy to be able to enjoy that treat again at home together.

I believe a "sweet moment" that would be special to have a treat like this would be a celebration of my anniversary with my wife. We were just married in May, so it's been fun to have special dates on our monthly anniversaries. I'm not gluten-free but she is, so I'm always trying to find special new things that she doesn't know about to make her happy. It's really thrilling to learn about all these new products that keep getting put out. We are able to rejoice together with each new item that we find and have together. Our most recent was Bob's Red Mill Gluten-Free Oats. We had known about them for a while, but I recently surprised her by picking that up as well as some chicken nuggets at a health store near my work! Needless to say, she was quite excited.
